Todd joined the Mulberry Street team in 2008 after nearly 15 years of experience in public relations in a variety of industries. Todd’s role on the Mulberry Street team is as an anchor of the media and pitching team, providing media targeting consulting, media relationship development, and direct editorial media pitching, as well as media buying research and strategic planning.
Todd began his career in the publishing industry, where he worked as a literary publicist for several large publishing houses.
His career took him to Chicago, where he worked in the corporate public relations department of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, broadening his experience into the specialized medical field. Todd was recognized for his outstanding achievements and excellence in public relations with the PR Weekly Non-Profit Team of the Year Award in 2002. He worked on the Academy’s award-winning Prevent Injuries of America campaign and worked with orthopaedic surgeons in promoting injury-prevention messages in their local communities.
Since relocating to the West Coast, Todd has provided public relations consulting to clients ranging from start-ups and non-profits to boutique PR firms and the entertainment sector.
Todd spent two years dedicated to sports-industry PR, focusing on Fox Soccer Channel, where he developed relationships with the key players in the soccer industry in broadcast, print and Web media. Todd was instrumental in planning press conferences in Los Angeles and New York City for Fox Soccer Channel’s Anniversary event. Todd also worked directly with Fox Sports Español, focusing on securing print coverage for the network in top national newspapers.
Todd has secured media coverage for his clients in Time Magazine, USA Today, New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, Reuters, as well as numerous other print, broadcast and online media outlets, covering a variety of general-consumer and industry trade audience reach.
